Perhaps Las Vegas hotels rooms are the biggest commodity of this major world-wide destination. Even with the current number of Las Vegas rooms accommodating 40 million visitors each year, there are currently both new building projects, as well as expansion projects underway in Las Vegas that when complete, will increase the number of Las Vegas hotel rooms to unprecedented numbers. Construction projects aimed at increasing the number of Las Vegas rooms include new resort hotels and existing hotel expansions, condo-hotels, a newer concept for Las Vegas, as well as timeshare projects.
Projects already underway in Las Vegas include Wynn's Encore, set to open in Christmas 2009, which will contain 2,054 Las Vegas hotel rooms, and the Venetian's Palazzo, which will add an additional 3,068 rooms to the Venetian's current inventory.
